Even the experts seem confused.

It is not unusual for critics of distributism to claim that we "just don't understand economics." Do the so-called experts really understand it? Look through the following headlines covering about one month of "expert" reporting on the economy.

Fed taper to cause 'severe recession'

What does this mean? It means that I won't be discouraged if someone tries to quote an "expert," or presents himself as an "expert," to try and refute distributism. To make my position perfectly clear. I am not an expert. I only ask that you consider what distributists have to say and judge if distributism makes sense to you.

  1. I've been searching the internet for information regarding Distributism. Since Reverum Novarum was addressing how we can make a better society and I believe it would be from the perspective that the teachings of Our Lord Jesus Christ are the most just teachings and most perfect I have one question. In what way does distributism have in it the justice that Our Lord taught us?

  2. Edward,

I have an article on this topic titled, "Is Distributism Catholic?" Distributism was founded by Catholics in response to Rerum Novarum, and its economic principles are specifically consistent with Catholic teaching on social and economic justice.
