Distributism Basics: Foundational Principles

I am happy to announce the publication of my new book, Distributism Basics: Foundational Principles. This is an exploration of some of the core principles underlying the distributist idea.

My previous Distributism Basics series of articles[1] was a very generalized introduction to the historical background of the modern distributist movement, with some explanations of how distributism differs from both capitalism and socialism. This book is a more detailed introduction to distributism for those who would like a better understanding of it.

The topics covered include:

  • The relationship of politics and economics
  • Different kinds of Capitalism
  • Different kinds of Socialism
  • What the name, Distributism, really means.
  • Private Property
  • Subsidiarity
  • Regulation of Businesses
  • Preference for Local Economics
  • Rights and Responsibilities
  • The Social Responsibility for Charity
  • The Social Responsibility to Work
  • The Social Responsibilities of Business
  • Ethical Employment
  • Ethical Competition
  • Ethical Finance
  • Implementation
  • Distributism in the Age of the Internet
  • Innovation
  • Nationalism and Global Trade

This book is available in paperback and e-book formats from The Book Patch (thebp.site/167644). The paperback is $13.00 plus shipping and handling. I am recording an audio book version and will announce when it becomes available. Thank you for your continued support!
